Raiders: Trade scenarios involving pick No. 22 overall

Tom Brady retired, so the Raiders can help

While the Packers’ scenario is a stretch, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will need a starting signal-caller relatively soon. On Saturday, legendary quarterback Tom Brady retired from the NFL, and that means that replacing him has suddenly become the team’s priority.

Luckily for the Bucs, Howell or Kenny Pickett might be available at number 22. At number 27, Tampa Bay could be pushing their luck. The Raiders could easily make this deal and move down and still snag Devonte Wyatt, the defensive lineman from Georgia. Another possibility is Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa or even Trevor Penning from Northern Iowa.

One way that the Raiders could also come out winners in a deal involving the 27th pick is if they traded out of the first round and acquired additional picks in the second or third rounds. The Raiders need to take advantage of the Bucs’ sudden need for a quarterback and build up draft capital while still addressing their needs this April.
