Las Vegas Raiders fans want their team to acquire a big-name wide receiver this offseason, and Brandin Cooks might be an option to consider.

Can the Raiders make a splash this offseason? Raider Nation certainly hopes so. The consensus fan favorite as far as players who should be brought in is Davante Adams. It’s all fine and dandy, but acquiring Adams isn’t feasible. Going after Brandin Cooks could be a cheap way to get another receiver to play opposite Hunter Renfrow without mortgaging the future.

New Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels will have Renfrow and Darren Waller next season. However, after those two, the drop-off in talent is noticeable. While Waller didn’t have a great year statistically speaking, when he was healthy, he opened things up offensively.

Renfrow emerged as the team’s de facto primary option for Derek Carr. However, the Silver and Black will need another way to score if they want to make the playoffs again.

While Adams is the obvious fan choice, acquiring the Fresno State product would come at an exponential price. Furthermore, Raider Nation overlooks the fact that the Green Bay Packers would be fools to let Adams walk. Mind you, the team just lost its offensive coordinator and there’s tons of conjecture surrounding Aaron Rodgers.

With that being said, the cost will be high regardless of what happens in Green Bay. On the other hand, trading for Cooks could be a lot more feasible and wouldn’t force the Raiders to break the bank, so to speak.
