Makes more sense for Raiders to pursue Brandin Cooks

Is Cooks the better option for the Raiders?

Based on sheer talent, Adams would be the obvious choice. It could be said he’s been the NFL’s best wide receiver the last few years. Nevertheless, Cooks is no scrub. Since 2014, he’s had six 1,000-yard-plus seasons, with no less than five touchdowns in each of those campaigns.

He currently has 46 touchdowns to his name, along with a career catch percentage of 65.8. His receiving grade per Pro Football Focus was 77.3 last season. While he barely eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark in 2021 with 1,037, Cooks would still be a clear upgrade over anything the Raiders currently have outside of Renfrow.

Despite being somewhat undersized at five-foot-ten, Cooks makes up for that with his physicality on the field. He’s accumulated eight broken tackles in the last two seasons, along with 707 yards after the catch in that same span.

At 28 years old, Cooks is far from being “washed up” and reuniting him with McDaniels would end up benefiting everyone within the Raiders’ offense.
