2022 3-round NFL Mock Draft: Raiders look to Georgia for help
Many within Raider Nation believe their team should splurge and go after a big-name wide receiver such as Davante Adams. Unfortunately, these fans are setting themselves up for a major disappointment. This current brain trust isn’t about to break the bank with an impending extension for Derek Carr and looming deals for Maxx Crosby and Hunter Renfrow.
To save some money, the Silver and Black can add a compliment to Renfrow (who will have a monster year under McDaniels) in the form of Cincinnati’s Alec Pierce.
Pierce was in the top five in several categories in the American Conference, with eight touchdowns (5th), 17.5 yards per reception (2nd), and 884 receiving yards (4th). Pierce’s receiving grade of 76.4 by Pro Football Focus is solid.
If Pierce puts on some weight in his NFL career and has his talent used wisely, he can easily become the second or third option for the Raiders. When you think about how much attention Renfrow and tight end Darren Waller will get, this is even more true.
