Raiders: Sleepers to target on Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft

Kyler Gordon – Cornerback, Washington

The University of Washington continues to put out great cornerback prospects, and they had two more in 2021.

Trent McDuffie is the more notable of the two and seems to be a first-round lock according to most draft analysts, but Kyler Gordon has the physical traits to be elite as well. Very recently, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah dropped a mock draft that had Gordon in the first round with the anticipation that he will dominate the combine.

Right now, Gordon is projected as more of a second-round pick but we know how teams covet elite athletes. And the Raiders themselves could use some more athletes on defense.

Continuing on the idea of versatility, Gordon has shown the ability to play both on the outside and in the slot. And like most Washington defensive backs, he is a good and very willing tackler.

Gordon is not a sleeper in terms of not being known, but his ability to be one of the best corners in this entire draft is rarely discussed. By the end of this combine week, he could very well be someone the Raiders take a look at even on day one.
