Raiders 2022 7-Round Mock Draft: What to do post-Davante Adams trade
The Raiders haven’t been overly active when it comes to the offensive line, at least not with any splashy signings. However, this year’s draft class at guard and tackle is noticeably deep. In fact, Las Vegas can add quality depth in these later rounds and walk away feeling awfully confident, especially if Arizona State’s Dohnovan West can be had with the 126th overall selection.
Some have West moving into Day 2 of the draft, especially after a solid performance at his pro day where he ran a 5.27 in his 40-yard dash combined with a 28-inch vertical at the combine. Though he played a lot of center in college, he saw plenty of snaps at both guard slots. With the right coaching, West can become a swing offensive lineman in the NFL.
West possesses remarkable lateral movement, excellent body control, and is quite a natural athlete with his six-foot-four frame. He’s one of the more balanced offensive line prospects this year, as he’ll be an asset in both the run and pass games. He dominates at the point of attack with his strong hands and breaks into the second level of defense, clearing run lanes.
With the right tutelage, West can also further develop his pass blocking skills as he’s already a solid anchor in the interior as he develops his technique but could possibly be a spot starter by his second year.
