Raiders: 4 parties that benefit the most from the Derek Carr extension

His Teammates

The third component(s) that benefit(s) are going to be Carr’s teammates.

The Raiders front office has sent a message to their roster that Derek is the guy, and also that they believe in this team the way it is constructed now. That’s a major morale boost to the entire locker room, and most importantly, key figures in that locker room like Darren Waller who are coming off tough seasons.

A guy like Waller (for example) now knows for certain that his management believes in the connection of him and Derek. They already brought in Davante Adams to help space Darren out and get him some easier targets/help in the receiving core. That should give a player like him a lot of confidence heading into 2022-23.

Derek’s teammates are now 100% certain he is the guy. No more worrying. No more overthinking. It is Carr and the Raiders in search of a championship.
