Raiders mock draft – Pick No. 164 – Justyn Ross, WR, Clemson

Do the Raiders still need another wide receiver? That’s a question on one person’s mind following the Adams trade. Before his arrival, the Raiders were slated to take one in the first round by many draft gurus, but things have changed. However, drafting Justyn Ross in the fifth round makes sense.

A physical specimen at six-foot-four and 205 pounds, Ross has the lean physical stature you look for in an NFL receiver, particularly a tall red zone option. There’s no doubt that the Raiders could use another explosive playmaker who can extend plays with impressive separation once he’s in the open field. If you want a receiver that’ll make things happen after the catch, Ross is your guy.

Ross is also a polished route-runner who would be most useful on the outside, with the potential to become a vertical threat in the NFL. He’s a tough, physical runner once he has the ball and has sufficient movement and agility to make defensive backs miss.
