Las Vegas Raiders 2022 Draft grades: The Best and the Worst

Round 4, Pick 126, Neil Farrell, DT, LSU

Like the Raiders backfield, the interior defensive line has plenty of depth. However, they are probably just temporary. In the new defense under Patrick Graham, they are going to have to generate pressure with their defensive line.

A nose tackle has to clog the middle and eat up space making running backs have to change directions. That is where Farrell comes in. The 6’4 330-pound Farrell is a tremendous run stuffer and should not be easily moved. In addition, he is an offensive lineman’s worst nightmare with his ability to fight through blocks knocking the offensive lineman off balance.

Farrell earned a B because his 5.4 40 time is probably not going to help the Raiders’ pass rush very much. He only had 7.5 sacks in five seasons with the Bayou Bengals. The Raiders need a nose tackle to collapse the pocket and prevent the quarterback from stepping up and buying time.

Grade: B
