Las Vegas Raiders 2022 NFL Draft: Way-too-early superlatives

Which draft pick has the greatest career of them all

The interesting thing about White is he could have gotten either of the previous titles mentioned. The only way he would start a game this season was if Josh Jacobs, Kenyon Drake, and Ameer Abdullah were all injured.

Hypothetically if Jacobs, whose fifth-year option was not picked up by the Raiders, underperforms this season; he could earn himself more playing time and eventually be the featured back…just not yet. He will definitely get a few reps this season while learning the offense.

On the other hand, if Jacobs, Drake, and Abdullah all leave during the next offseason, White should be named the starter. From that point on he will earn a big contract in the final year of his rookie contract.

The only concern about naming him the Raiders best running back of all time and being named a Pro Bowler/All-Pro/Hall of Famer is his running style. He is a punishing back who possesses great power to go along with speed. He has great elusiveness and can run through tackles. If defenders try to arm tackle him, they will be embarrassed. It seems like those running backs don’t have longevity in the NFL anymore.

The Raiders embody toughness and having tremendous heart. Raiders also are known for not just being able to overcome challenges but to run them over like a bulldozer. After all, they overcame challenges last year and made the playoffs. That is what you can think of when you think of White.

White bulldozed so many challenges that epitomizes his playing style in not just his football career but his life. From given two weeks to live to become a featured back for a National Championship team. He even tore both ACLs, when most people would have hung up their pads, he bounced back and is now a member of the Raiders.

If he can stay healthy, White has the potential to be the best running back in Raiders history. Maybe then, will his running style not disappear from football but just go through an evolution.

Final Thought

It will be an absolute honor and a privilege to watch these six players get a chance to play for the Silver and Black, which in itself, is a tremendous honor. Hopefully, they can be a vital part of leading the Raiders to championships down the line.
