Raiders: Dont’a Hightower could play the K.J. Wright role in 2022

How about Hightower?

At age 32, Hightower has undoubtedly begun to slow down. However, he still played 67% of the snaps for Belicheck’s group last season. Long known for his ability to stop the run, he can still provide a physical presence. He should not be relied upon often in pass coverage, however.

A Pro Bowl selection as recently as 2019, Hightower is the type of player you sign at this point in the off-season. Will he be a game-changer due to his play on the field? Likely no. However, the insight he could provide the young players on the team such at all positions could prove invaluable to new defensive coordinator, Patrick Graham.

If the Raiders are looking to add leaders, do not be surprised if Ziegler elects to bring in an old friend in Hightower. After all the success they experienced together in New England, it is a move that could pay dividends.
