Raiders’ tackle prospect watch – Broderick Jones, Georgia

As a member of last season’s National Championship squad at Georgia, Broderick Jones will have plenty of eyes on him this upcoming collegiate year. He saw a total of 437 snaps last year and will go into this season as one of Georgia’s starting tackles.

A five-star recruit out of Lithonia High School, Jones saw action in 11 games in 2021. A few stats of note are that he surrendered just one QB hit and only two sacks, most of that playing was at left tackle for the Bulldogs.

PFF awarded him solid grades across the board in both pass and run blocking; 71.0 and 76.5, respectively. Jones displayed well-balanced movement and technique, combined with notable hands. Though as of right now, the concern with Jones might be his ability to deal with speedier pass rushers, he makes up for it with a high motor and a relentless streak to finish each play. He’ll also translate into a quality run blocker in the NFL with his ability to penetrate into a defense’s second level. Keep an eye on him, Raider Nation.
