Raiders: Reviewing the inside linebackers currently on the roster
Reviewing the current inside linebackers for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Micah Kiser
We end this with the final two inside linebackers on the roster, who are not UDFA signings: Micah Kiser, and the most recent linebacker signing, Kenny Young.
Kiser was drafted in the fifth-round of the 2018 draft, coming into a defense that ran a 3-4. Eventually, Kiser was designated to the Rams practice squad mid-way through last season, where the Broncos (still running a 3-4) claimed him. Altogether, the 244lb has appeared in 36 NFL games, starting 11.
One notable concern I have with Kiser is his tackling. Over the last two-seasons, Kiser has missed two tackles in each year. While this number seems miniscule, both seasons resulted in a 9.5% missed tackle percentage, as there were only 21 total attempts in both ’19 and ’20. In ’18, Kiser missed 10 tackles on 87 attempts. This was an 11.5% missed tackle percentage.
PFF thought high of Kiser last season, giving him a grade of 78.7.
