Raiders free agent target – A.J. Bouye, CB

The Raiders’ cornerback group is solid but adding a veteran wouldn’t hurt. Rock Ya-Sin was a nice addition this offseason, but the team is counting on Trayvon Mullen to return to his 2020 form. On the other hand, A.J. Bouye is a former Pro Bowl cornerback who, despite being 30 years old, could still be of use to the Raiders.

Despite only seeing 250 snaps in coverage, Bouye managed a Pro Football Focus grade of 68.5, surrendering 31 receptions and zero touchdowns in pass defense. Though health is a concern, having only played in 14 regular-season games the past two seasons, Bouye is still effective when he’s on the field.

For most of his career, Bouye has been effective in defending the run as well, something that will be key in Graham’s defense and a field that Mullen struggles with. Depending on if it’s the veteran minimum or how much money Bouye is commanding, this could be a sneaky good signing by the Raiders.
