Raiders need Brandon Bolden to be Brandon Bolden in 2022
By Brad Weiss
The Las Vegas Raiders added some talented players from New England, and Brandon Bolden needs to continue to do what he does best.
Looking at the 2022 roster heading into July, the Las Vegas Raiders have a lot more talent than they did a year ago. On both sides of the ball, there should be some incredible camp battles this summer, and even those who do not start, are going to play a big role when all is said and done.
During the offseason, the Silver and Black added Josh McDaniels as their new head coach, and he comes to the franchise after a long, and successful run in New England. Sure, he had a hiccup as the head coach of the Denver Broncos, but he joins Raider Nation with plenty of rings, and a reputation of being an offensive genius.
Coming along with McDaniels were a few players from New England, including running back Brandon Bolden.
Last season, Bolden was outstanding for the Patriots, rushing for nearly 250 yards and a score, while also proving to be a legitimate weapon out of the backfield. In fact, Bolden had over 40 catches in 2021, a skill he must bring to the Raiders in his first season with the team.
An exciting player, McDaniels already knows the best way to utilize his talents, and for the Silver and Black, he needs to have the same role he did in his final season in New England.
Raiders have no shortage of weapons on offense
When it comes to the 2022 Raiders, there is no shortage of weapons on the offensive side of the ball, as the combination of Hunter Renfrow and Davante Adams may be the best 1-2 at wide receiver in the league. The tight end, Darren Waller, is one of the best in the game, and Bolden is a part of a very deep and talented running back room.
Las Vegas will have to navigate a very tough AFC West this season, but it is players like Bolden, who can do so many things on a football field, that could prove to be the difference. The third back on this roster in terms of the depth chart, the Raiders would certainly take 40 catches and 44 carries from him in 2022.
