Training camp in Las Vegas keeps on pushing, and more under-the-radar players take center stage.

This year’s training camp has been home to many developments, from Darien Butler to an unexpected name on the offensive line emerging as a threat to take over after Denzelle Good’s retirement. With Day 7 of camp now wrapped up, even more stories continue to shape up in Las Vegas.

On Thursday, two Raiders turned heads of both their teammates and coaches, just as they’ve done all through camp. These players, one on the offense with the other on the defense, are bringing a swagger to the field that cannot be ignored.

The two Raiders in question are wideout Tyron Johnson, and cornerback Anthony Averett.

Johnson, or T-Billy as he’s called, is leaving everyone marveled with his speed. At his Pro Day, the Oklahoma State receiver logged a 4.36 40-time, and has looked every bit as quick throughout camp.

Averett has had the toughest task of all during camp, guarding All-Pro wideout Davante Adams. While Adams has come away with many fantastic catches against Averett, the former Raven is making Adams earn the reception on most plays. If there’s film of Adams making a great catch in camp, pay close attention to who’s around him, and why that catch was great. Spoiler alert: It’s due to Averett’s coverage.

All that said, let’s dive into more detail on these two.
