Raiders at Cardinals 2022 Week 2: Things to watch
The Passing game has to click early
The Passing game struggled in Week 1 against the Chargers, as Derek Carr had three interceptions with five sacks. Carr needs to have a clean game against the Cardinals because while Arizona had a rough game on offense in Week 1, they can turn it on quick and score in bunches.
Kyler Murray is a dangerous twitchy QB that can make off-platform throws while having the ability to escape pressure and keeping his eyes downfield to take deep shots.
The ball is king, and that starts with Derek Carr, so if he can take care of the ball and be a point guard of the offense, the weapons around him will make his life a lot easier. The faster the ball is out the less time the offensive line has to hold up in pass protection.
With Carr distributing the ball to all of his weapons, it will make it very difficult for Vance Joseph to key on one individual to stop.
The passing game came alive late in the Chargers game, so if the offense can pick up from how they ended in Week 1, the Raiders’ offensive hype will come to fruition. It’s all about getting in a groove and getting comfortable in a new system I expect the chemistry and knowledge of the system to build as the season goes on.
