Raiders at Chiefs 2022 Week 5: 3 Raiders to watch Monday night

Josh Jacobs had a career game last week against the Broncos. Totaling 174 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, it marked the 4th time in 6 career matchups that he has gone for two or more touchdowns.

It is the first time we’ve seen him really break out in this Josh McDaniels system, with his best game previously being 69 yards (nice) in Week 2 against the Cardinals.

Getting the running game going early against Denver gave the Raiders the ability to not only set up the passing game but control the clock and control the flow of the game. This was the first time all season we’ve seen both parts of the offense work in unison together.

Josh Jacobs needs to channel his rookie season, where he went a combined 29 carries for 203 yards against the Chiefs, averaging 7 yards a carry. Very few teams have been able to contain Patrick Mahomes let alone shut him down. The best way to defend him is to keep him off the field as much as possible. That starts with Josh Jacobs and the run game.
