Las Vegas Raiders: Post-2022 Bye Week Bold Predictions
Bold Prediction #3: Somehow, the Raiders find their way into the postseason
Yes, this could be seen as pandering. Yes, this could be seen as a biased prediction on a Raiders’ website.
But hey, these are bold predictions, after all.
The Las Vegas Raiders, despite their 1-4 start, will reach the postseason in 2022. It is almost a unanimous opinion that the Raiders have underachieved thus far. In four combined losses, they have been outscored by 15 total points.
Two of their losses have come in games where they lead 20-0 and 17-0, respectively. The tools are in place for success, Las Vegas just desperately needs to put them together and play a full game of good football.
Additionally, the rest of the season’s schedule is not exactly laden with world-beaters. For their remaining 12 games, the Raiders have the 24th most difficult schedule in the league, according to Tankathon, with a .465 combined opponent winning percentage.
Obviously, a lot of work has to be done to turn this season around. However, there will also just simply be a regression to the mean. The Raiders have lost all four of their one-score games this year. Statistically speaking, that will not continue.
A factor that cannot be overlooked, as well, is the confidence and momentum that will be gained if this team can string a few wins together. With a new coach and system, the importance of these qualitative aspects cannot be ignored.
The Raiders will prove to be a different team post-bye. Despite all hope seeming lost after Week 3, the Silver and Black will catapult themselves into the 2022 NFL playoffs.
