Las Vegas Raiders: 5 biggest surprises of 2022 thus far

The offensive line hasn’t been so terrible

Props where props are due. We can get into all of these fancy advanced stats and all that jazz that will surely tell us how bad this Raiders offensive line really is, but at the end of the day I thought this was going to be a unit that would sink this Raiders team, and to this point, it’s only allowed 13 sacks.

That is right in the middle of the pack compared to the rest of the league.

NFL Next Gen Stats has Derek Carr’s “time to throw” at 2.79 seconds, which is tied for 13th-best in football. Again, pretty middle of the pack. So, considering the narrative going into the season about how bad it was going to be, I find this Raiders O-line to be a major positive surprise.

Of all the things that were going to hold this team back in 2022, I’m pretty sure the vast majority of us would have said “offensive line” without skipping a beat. The Raiders are not 2-4 because of their O-line. Let’s sum it up like that.
