Raiders: It Is Time To Finally Move On From Derek Carr
Las Vegas drubbed by the Saints
The Raiders would lose the game 24-0 and it truly wasn’t even that close. A beatdown the likes of which you rarely see in the NFL, the Las Vegas offense struggled to even cross the 50-yard line. Under constant pressure all game, Carr looked as bad as he has at any point in his career.
Simply put, he played scared and it was evident.
Of course, this game was not entirely the fault of Carr. The defense was hardly perfect, the offensive line struggled, and the Saints’ defensive backs played very well. Even still, the team needs more from their veteran, highly-paid signal caller.
Is it possible that the new regime decides to move on following the season?
First and foremost, it must be said that Derek Carr currently has a no-trade clause in his contract. For a player who has routinely stated his desire to play for the Raiders his entire career, this could make it impossible to move him to another team. Even still, if he were to waive the no-trade clause, there would certainly be teams interested in his services.
