3 Bold Predictions for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022 Week 9

Bold Prediction #3: Daniel Carlson wins it for the Raiders

Last season, Daniel Carlson was money-in-the-bank for the Raiders in clutch situations. In the final two minutes of games in 2021-2022, the former fifth-round draft pick was 9-9 on lead-changing kicks.

While Carlson has continued to be one of the best kickers in the NFL this season, he has not had much of an opportunity to send Raiders’ fans home happy. The Silver and Black have been in five one-score games this year and lost them all. Even though the Raiders’ offense has had a chance at the end of these games, it has failed to put Carlson in a position to win the game.

In Week 9’s contest in Jacksonville, Carlson will once again get to be the hero.

The meeting between the Jaguars and Raiders has the makings to be tightly contested. The two teams have played a combined 11 one-score games this season, already. The Raiders are 0-4 in those games. The Jaguars, however, are even worse at 0-6.

Sunday’s game will be a high scoring one, with a back-on-track Raiders offense and a flat-out bad Raiders defense. The matchup will likely go back and forth until the final minutes when Carr and company can take advantage of Jacksonville’s late-game blunders that put Carlson in a position to kick a game-winner.
