Raiders vs Colts 2022 Week 10: Bold predictions

The Las Vegas Raiders’ lofty hopes and expectations for the 2022 NFL season are officially dead in the water. After blowing yet another 17+ point lead last Sunday in Jacksonville, the Raiders fell to 2-6.

Unfortunately, the Raiders do not happen to be in the NFC South, so it is nearly impossible to envision any path back to playoff contention this season. Las Vegas seems to realize this, too, as both Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow were placed on injured reserve earlier this week.

Now, the focus shifts. Dave Ziegler and Josh McDaniels will begin evaluating players for next year’s roster, while the players who won’t be back must get some solid film on tape for their impending free agency.

As things sit currently, the Raiders own the second overall draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. With nine weeks to go in what seems to be a lost season, wins may be an inconvenience to the new Raiders’ regime.

Any talk of “tanking” will have to be tabled for next week, though, as one of the few teams in the midst of an even worse season than the Raiders comes to town: the Indianapolis Colts.

The Colts are a dumpster fire. After firing their offensive coordinator Marcus Brady and subsequently their head coach Frank Reich, Indianapolis’ owner Jim Irsay announced that former Colts’ center Jeff Saturday would be taking over as interim head coach.

Saturday has never coached a football game above the high school level.

In addition, the Colts have benched Matt Ryan and turned to young quarterback Sam Ehlinger. While Ehlinger had a nice career at Texas, he has not shown much since being selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In two starts, Ehlinger has yet to throw a touchdown pass. His career quarterback rating is 69.7.

Sunday, the quarterback-less, coach-less Indianapolis Colts will travel to Las Vegas to take on the huge disappointment that is the Raiders. This should be fun. Before kickoff, let’s take a look at a few bold predictions for a game that is sure to steal the show this weekend. (That was sarcasm.)
