Feed Jacobs no matter the score

Josh Jacobs has been arguably the Raiders’ best, or second-best player, all season long right with Adams. He’s third in the NFL in rushing and is averaging 5.1 yards per rush attempt. No matter if Las Vegas is holding onto a lead or down big, Jacobs’ has performed well enough to command the ball on a consistent basis.

When the Raiders lost to the Chargers, Titans, and Saints this season it largely coincided with Las Vegas falling behind in double-digits quickly. As a result, McDaniels essentially gave up on the run game as the Raiders attempted to consistently from the pocket. But despite trailing 10-0 early on versus the Broncos last week, Jacobs still wound up with 24 carries, his second most this season.

He totaled 109 yards on the ground with an average of 4.5 yards per carry.

Jacobs has been on another level this season and is playing his best, or arguably even better than his rookie season. Just like Adams deserves to be involved throughout all four quarters, the same can be said for Jacobs. If he continues to prove capable of handling nearly 20 carries per game, McDaniels has no reason to stray away from feeding him.
