Raiders vs Chargers 2022 Week 13: Studs and Duds

Chandler Jones – Stud

Chandler Jones gets top billing this week as he was the star of the game for Las Vegas on defense. Jones has had a difficult season in terms of production and eye test, but he came through with by far his best game of the year.

Jones showed up early with a sack on the first LA drive of the day and then came through with a huge tackle on Justin Herbert on fourth down on the following drive. His next big play came with the Chargers driving deep into Raiders’ territory and threatening to take a 14-0 lead. He took down Herbert for a 4-yard loss on third and five and helped hold the Chargers to a field goal.

Perhaps if they go up by two touchdowns then we have a different outcome, but a field goal kept the Raiders in the game.

The veteran pass rusher finished the day with three sacks, two tackles for loss, five QB hits, and one pass defended that seemed like a much bigger play at the time than it ended up being. He was a menace in the backfield all game long and his raw statistics don’t do justice to the impact he had on the game in making Herbert’s day a nightmare.

Jones was able to feast on a backup left tackle and will get the chance to do so again when the Raiders take on the Rams on Thursday Night Football. He got his confidence back with a big-time performance and we hope to see more of the same from thebig-moneyy defensive end.
