Las Vegas Raiders: Realistic quarterback options in 2023

Option 2: Aaron Rodgers

Yes, the first two quarterbacks on this list are two of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. No, neither player looks anywhere close to that status this season.

Like Brady, Rodgers has struggled in 2022. Already matching his highest interception total since 2010, and the second-highest of his career, Rodgers has looked lost for the majority of his first season post, Davante Adams.

Now, the Packers will have to make a major decision. Sans a couple of major moves, Green Bay is not ready to win now. Their defense has been underwhelming, to say the least, and their lack of wide receiver talent is alarming. It is difficult to justify paying $50M a year to a 39-year-old quarterback without Super Bowl aspirations.

If the Packers do decide to move on from the four-time NFL MVP, the Raiders will almost certainly be a team in the mix.

If he were to join the Raiders, Rodgers would immediately have the best surrounding cast that he has ever had, not to mention the fact that he would get to reunite with Davante Adams.

Similarly with Brady, though, this potential move would likely rely a lot more heavily on McDaniels and Ziegler than Rodgers. Do they believe that Rodgers is just in an impossible situation, or has he fallen off a cliff? If they are unsure, committing to a $50M cap hit would not be easy.

It may not be as prevalent as the Brady rumors, but don’t be surprised to see plenty of Rodgers-to-Vegas speculation in the coming months.
