Primary scapegoats from the Las Vegas Raiders 2022 season

On Thursday, nine-year starting quarterback Derek Carr finally said goodbye to Raider Nation, something that we all knew was coming. Josh McDaniels and the organization decided to bench Carr for the final two games of the 2022 season, despite the team technically being alive in the AFC Playoff race, so the writing was on the wall that this was the end.
Going into 2022, this was the year DC was supposed to take the next step forward, becoming a top-10 quarterback, and a consistent face in the playoff picture. Las Vegas went out and brought his best friend, and star wideout Davante Adams into the fold in the offseason, eliminating the narrative that he never had a legitimate WR1 with him as the starter.
Well, Carr struggled in a big way in the second half of the season, and eventually, the team decided it was time to see someone else at the helm of the offense. For his entire nine-year career, Carr has pretty much been the scapegoat for the franchise’s failures, and while some of it was warranted, a lot of it was not.
