If the Las Vegas Raiders do decide to move on from quarterback Derek Carr, there is a good chance they could face him in 2023.
On Thursday, Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said goodbye to the franchise, ending his nine-year run as the starting quarterback for the Silver and Black. For Carr, his tenure with the team will be remembered for many highs, a lot of lows, and a feeling of ‘what-if’ as he makes his way to the next stop on his NFL journey.
Going into the 2023 offseason, there is certain to be another carousel in terms of the quarterback position around the NFL, and Carr is certain to be right in the middle of it. He posted on Twitter that his fire to play is still burning bright, so he will be starting somewhere other than Las Vegas next season, that is for sure.
The only question remaining is where Carr will end up, as he will help the team find a trade partner, or could possibly be cut. No matter what happens, at only 31 years old, Carr has many good years ahead of them, and possibly many matchups against his former teammates.
In 2023, the Raiders could see Carr on the opposite sideline.
