Give credit to the Raiders, they sure know how to keep their fans on their toes. From 2019-2022 the team appeared to be turning the corner several times. Astoundingly, almost all of these times were followed by a heart-breaking, blowout that put the Raiders’ season on the ropes and caused fans to check out.

First, it was a 2019 game against the Jets in MetLife. At 6-4, Oakland entered the game looking to build on a three-game winning streak by beating up the 3-7 Jets. Instead, Carr recorded just 127 passing yards and an interception as the offense posted just three points in a 34-3 beatdown.

The team would lose four of their next five and miss the playoffs.

In 2020, the Raiders would go to Atlanta to face the Falcons sporting a 6-4 record once again. Fresh off a hard-fought loss on Sunday Night Football to the Kansas City Chiefs, everyone predicted the Raiders would smoke the 3-7 Falcons en route to a potential playoff matchup with the rival Chiefs. Alas, Las Vegas would lose 43-6 while Carr finished the game with four turnovers.

Continuing into 2021, the Chiefs took the opportunity to embarrass the Silver and Black twice. Outscoring the Raiders 89-23 in two matchups, Carr would finish these games with a combined three turnovers and six sacks taken.

Finally, in 2022 it was the Saints who delivered the Raiders their most lopsided loss. After a 38-20 win over the Texans the week before, the Raiders were beginning to show signs of life. Despite this, the Saints delivered a 24-0 beatdown where Carr had just 101 passing yards and an interception and never crossed midfield.
