Las Vegas Raiders: Star players have already turned the page on Derek Carr
By Brad Weiss
It is clear that the Las Vegas Raiders will have a new quarterback in 2023, and some of the star players for the team have turned the page.
In what was likely the last time he will represent the Las Vegas Raiders in any kind of fashion, Derek Carr showed the kind of accuracy that will make him a big-time pick up for a quarterback-needy team this offseason. Carr enjoyed a lot of personal success with the Raiders, setting numerous passing records, but the wins were hard to come by.
Now, the Raiders will move on from Carr, and it is rumored that they could be in the market for Aaron Rodgers via a trade. Before his retirement, Las Vegas was reportedly interested in bringing Tom Brady in, something that star edge rusher Maxx Crosby was all about.
Speaking with Barstool Sports, Crosby did not mince words when describing whether or not he wanted the seven-time Super Bowl winner under center in 2023.
However, now that Brady has retired ‘for good,’ all eyes are on Rodgers, who enjoyed a ton of success with current Raiders star wideout Davante Adams in Green Bay. Adams is making a push to get Rodgers to the desert, and speaking at the Pro Bowl, Josh Jacobs had this to say about the future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Seems like some key members of the Silver and Black are all-in on Rodgers to the desert, and have moved past their former signal-caller, Carr.
Raiders must upgrade to win in 2023
The truth is, looking at the 2023 NFL Draft class, and the other veterans available in free agency, Rodgers is the only clear upgrade from Carr this upcoming season. Going into Year 2 as head coach, the organization is not ready to rebuild under Josh McDaniels, and team owner Mark Davis can feel the frustration from the fan base.
Las Vegas Raiders 7-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft: A perfect scenario?
The Las Vegas Raiders may be moving on to plan B at QB after Tom Brady retired, in this latest mock draft they get their QB of the future at pick 7.
If they want to win in 2023, they have to go all-in on Rodgers, and hope that coming to Las Vegas to play with Adams is what he wants to do. Sure, it may cost a lot to bring him to the Raiders, but if he can give the organization a few years of his MVP-caliber play, it will have been well worth it.
