No. 4: Aaron Brooks, Quarterback (2yr-$8M)

The Raiders franchise needed to find an answer at the quarterback position after Kerry Collins was released, and they found one in New Orleans star, Aaron Brooks. With the Saints bringing in Drew Brees at quarterback, Brooks was deemed expendable, and the Raiders welcomed him with open arms to try and lead the franchise.

However, after agreeing to a two-year deal with the Silver and Black, the Brooks era got off to a nightmare start, as he was sacked nine times in his Week 1 debut against the Chargers. All told, Brooks would go on to start only eight games for the Raiders franchise, losing every start, and thanks to the 2-14 record that season, the team was in line to draft Jamarcus Russell with pick No. 1 overall in the 2007 NFL Draft.

The Russell era was a nightmare as well, but for Brooks, his stint in the Silver and Black would be his final run as an NFL quarterback. Brooks threw three touchdowns against eight interceptions for one of the worst Raiders teams in recent memory and had he actually had an offensive line, maybe his run with the team could have been different.
