The Las Vegas Raiders kicked off the 2026 NFL Draft by selecting quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the first pick, but they used their next two picks on the defensive side of the ball. Las Vegas returned to the offensive side of the ball near the end of the third round, however.
They selected offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III with the 91st-overall pick. The former Texas A&M lineman is joining an offensive line in Las Vegas that is hoping to significantly improve from last season.
Zuhn can help the team do that, and he has the chance to emerge as somewhat of a secret weapon because of his versatility. The lineman has experience playing all across the offensive line, and that could be a valuable skillset for the Raiders.
Trey Zuhn III brings versatility to the Raiders offensive line
Zuhn was announced as a guard when his name was called, but was listed as a center on his graphic. Additionally, the lineman mostly played at tackle throughout his college career. While that could be a bit confusing, it’s also exciting.
He could be a lineman who could fill in at multiple different spots for the Raiders. Of course, the NFL is a much different game than college, but if Zuhn’s versatility can translate to the next level, he will be able to line up at any of the five spots.
Considering the importance of the offensive line, especially in Klint Kubiak's offense, finding a quality lineman who can do that is a game-changer. That’s exactly what the Raiders are hoping they’re getting.
At 6-foot-6, 312 pounds, Zuhn has the size to line up inside and outside, and he got his fair share of experience in college, starting at Texas A&M for four straight seasons. That should help his transition into the league, giving him the chance to become a contributor early in his career.
While his versatility is certainly appealing, the exciting news is that Las Vegas may not need Zuhn to learn multiple spots. The Raiders have been working to rebuild the offensive line this offseason, and between the moves they made and the guys coming back from injuries, the team should have some set starters across the line.
However, having a guy with starter potential, who also has the experience that allows him to step in at any other position, is a nice ace up the sleeve.
