All offseason, in the proper context, the Las Vegas Raiders' wide receiver room has been a cornucopia of possibilities for fantasy football managers. A case could be made for Jalen Nailor, Tre Tucker or even Jack Bech as a potential bankable asset this year.
Training camp and preseason would hopefully provide some level of clarity on that front. Not that any Raiders wide receiver is going to become a full-fledged fantasy stud this year, but there is a path to someone (or multiple someones) being viable in a given week, for multiple weeks or even all season.
In Las Vegas' second preseason game against the Houston Texans, the starters were rested. Who fit that tab in the wide receiver group stood to be interesting, with the easy assumptions that it would be both Tucker and Nailor. Well, Nailor actually started against Houston, which says a lot about Tucker.
Tre Tucker is now clearly the Raiders' WR to target late in fantasy football drafts
Nailor played 13 snaps and had one catch (for 22 yards) on three targets from Fernando Mendoza against the Texans. Meanwhile, Tucker did not play, as every other available Raiders wide receiver did. Bech played 16 snaps, and while rookie Malik Benson is intriguing, perhaps only so in dynasty drafts.
Up to this point, fantasy experts and average draft position (ADP) data have been understandably conflicted about Tucker and Nailor in terms of ranking and who the preferred Raiders' wide receiver will be for the 2026 NFL season.
For some, the history Nailor has with Kirk Cousins from their time with the Minnesota Vikings and the contract he was given gives him the edge. Others remember Tucker's boom game from early last season and imagine the possibilities provided by competent quarterback play.
Yahoo! (0.5-point PPR) ADP data gives a pretty substantial edge to Nailor (WR57, compared to Tucker at WR72). ESPN ADP (full-point PPR)) has the slight edge to Tucker (WR 61 vs. WR63).
Fantasy Pros' live, RealTime ADP tracking shows Tucker rising some after essentially being declared the Raiders' wide receiver who has an unthreatened role. That trend seems sure to continue, in concert with Nailor falling as the teeth of draft season rolls on.
We obviously aren't dealing with high-end fantasy options here, with Tucker trending upward toward WR5 territory in 12-team leagues as Nailor shifts downward based on what happened in the second preseason game. It also still feels like an unpredictable situation that could shift the other way quickly.
But at least for now, and unless/until something changes, Tucker should now be above Nailor on fantasy cheat sheets as the bulk of fantasy football draft season drags on.
