When you compare the skill sets and raw physical talent between Hayden and Verner you see some eerie similarities. From day one Reggie McKenzie and Dennis Allen have said they want playmakers. They solidified that thinking by drafting Hayden in round one last year, but if they were to add Verner and Munnerlyn to solidify their cornerback position they would have tripled down on that statement and brought in serious talent. Verner started off playing zone but has developed his man coverage skills and he mostly plays off coverage matching what Hayden does best. He plays the ball very well and his instincts are ideal. His addition would cost around 10 million dollars, but the Raiders would love his presence and there is chatter the Raiders are very interested in him. If not him they will likely add Shields.
