New San Diego Chargers cornerback isn’t going to let a little thing like you know, being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs stop him from claiming the title of “Best Cornerback in the NFL” for himself.

More from Las Vegas Raiders News

In an interview with NFL Network, Flowers was given a list of cornerbacks to choose from as the best cornerback in the league. A list that obviously did not include a just recently released cornerback in Flowers, who clearly thinks highly of himself because he decided to nominate himself for the distinction of being the best at his position.

Flowers said the following to NFL Network according to Fansided.com

"When it came to this question, Flowers was given a list of options from which to choose, guys like Richard Sherman, Patrick Peterson, and Darrelle Revis. He went with none of the above. His answer? Himself, of course (you can see video of the interview at NFL.com).Oh, first off, let me just say, I am the best corner in football. Let’s get that clear. Don’t let my injuries from last season remove my name from that list."

Flowers was a Pro Bowler in 2013, so it is hard to argue that he isn’t still a talented player in the league. However he has never even been close to being near the top at the corner position, a role that Darrelle Revis has held for seemingly a lifetime and Richard Sherman is close to overtaking as the “Undisputed Best Cornerback in Football.” Already dumped by the
Chiefs, perhaps Flowers should be focusing on trying to earn a spot near the Chargers depth chart rather than making outlandishly cocky statements to the mainstream media.
