Colin Kaepernick Snubs Media Ahead of Oakland Raiders Game

Nov 27, 2014; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (7) prepares to throw a pass against the Seattle Seahawks in the fourth quarter at Levi

Colin Kaepernick had one of the worst games of his career on Thanksgiving against the Seattle Seahawks, failing to live up to the hype and the moment of the rivalry game against NFC West foes in a loss that makes this Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders a must win for the Niners who are now on the outside looking in for the NFC Wild Card.

Kaepernick’s attitude must be affected by his poor play because during his media availability on Wednesday the Niners quarterback took the Marshawn Lynch route to answering questions, giving the media on hand just 55 words to 29 questions about the Oakland Raiders matchup. Not much for the media to work with before a big Bay Area rivalry matchup.

Kaepernick has every right to give short answers as he pleases, as we have learned with Marshawn Lynch as long as you show up and respond to questions the NFL will not fine you. However the short answer approach will get you more attention than just simply doing your best to professionally answer what the reporters are asking you during your weekly media availability. Kaepernick had no interest in doing that before the Raiders game on Sunday and now people in the Bay Area are talking more about Kaepernick’s presser than if he gave actual insightful answers to the 29 questions that were asked of him.

It is a talking point that will go away if the Niners, who are 7.5 point faves against the Raiders, take care of businesses, but in the microscope atmosphere that is currently ongoing in San Francisco it is just another reminder that the media is not welcome within the Niners. With more friction inside the locker room of a 7-5 team than inside the Raiders locker room right now you have to wonder how the madhouse in San Francisco is going to affect play on Sunday inside the Coliseum when the two Bay Area franchises collide.
