A lot of draft analysts have Cooper mocked to the Raiders at No. 4 overall because they need receivers. But they don’t need just a receiver, they need a receiver with blazing speed. They need someone that can blow the top off a defense so the running game and the underneath routes will open up.
Plus having to methodically matriculate the ball down the field every possession doesn’t work. And when you have a quarterback with a big arm like Carr, you have to take advantage of it anyway. So the Raiders will be especially watching the five men that were mentioned in this article because unlike 2011, the Raiders need speed.
Another thing to look at is the 3-cone drill because that reveals acceleration out of breaks.
