5. Titans Let Williams Fall to 4

This is the scenario I feel has little to no chance of happening because there are so many moving parts and crazy things that happen, but that is also what we are looking into for this article. I simply do not see any reason why the Titans would take Mariota over Williams, but they could. They could also trade that pick to a team such as the Redskins, Jets, any team previously mentioned in the Mariota trade with the Raiders, and lastly the Chargers.

Out of these scenarios, the Chargers seem to be the most likely of these options. Rivers does not want to talk contract right now, and reportedly he also wants to move to the South to raise his very large family. The Chargers also have significant interest in Mariota and have been in contact with him repeatedly throughout the predraft process.

From there, this situation also requires a significant leap of faith, which is the Jaguars passing on Williams and taking Fowler instead. Regardless if he is a scheme fit, Williams is by far a better prospect and he is the one prospect in this draft that is considered a sure thing. As much as this is a topic of discussion on Twitter, it simply feels very impractical that it would happen, although this would be Christmas come early for Raider’s fans.

If they could have Williams truly fall into their laps at four it would be a considerable stroke of luck. From there the Raiders would have their pick of the litter of a deep class of second round receivers which is lead by Nelson Agholor. If you ask me, this is the best thing that could happen to this franchise in this draft. The likelihood it happens? Very slim.
