As the Raiders begin training camp in preparation for the 2015 season, new Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio and his staff will be evaluating each player every day in practice, in meetings, in film sessions, and in preseason games in order to find the winning combination of players to fill the final 53-man roster and to fill specific roles and depth chart positions on the team.

While some players are sure-fire locks to be starters in their positions, other spots are up for grabs, and for each position group, battles wage to make those roster spots and also find a niche on the depth chart. In the modern NFL, regardless of depth chart position, everyone plays SOMEWHERE if they make a 53 man roster.

Here is a look, position group by position group, of the likely depth chart alignment when it’s all said and done, and an examination of the personnel in each position group. This article will examine the offensive side of the ball, and later this week we’ll get a look at defense and special teams.
