Player of the Game:  Khalil Mack

Everyone has been waiting for him to start tallying sacks, and in the game on Sunday Mack showed that his motor doesn’t quit The Browns offense was tired and beaten up, but Mack was just as aggressive in the 4th quarter as he was the first snap.

Mack’s game reminded me of what people used to say about Jerry Rice, that he might not beat you in the first three quarters, but at the end of the game when everyone is tired and winded, he’s still fresh and ready to go. Mack’s conditioning is going to pay off greatly this season if he can keep feasting on tired offensive lines as he did on Sunday.

Offensive Player of the Game:  Latavius Murray

Murray got his opportunities this week and even though it was a tough start, he managed to have a career high 139 yards and added another TD to his season stats. If Murray can continue to put games together like this, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be able to at least 1000 yards by the end of the season.

Defensive Player of the Game: T.J. Carrie.

I can’t give every award to Mack, and  Carrie was asked to play a new position in a game where the opposing offense had to throw a lot in order to stay in the game. Carrie is proving to be a versatile, do anything to help the team type player which is why he gets my award for the defensive player of the game

Play of the Game: Charles Woodson’s Game Winning INT

Charles Woodson became only the second player in the history of the NFL to grab an interception in 18 straight seasons, and to come up with it in such a clutch situation speaks volumes about how great of an instinctual player he is. Woodson may not be the fastest guy on the field anymore, he may not be the kind of safety who will strike fear into opponents, but he’ll be the smartest player on the field, and that can go a long way. The fact that he is nearing 39 years old winning football games for the team that drafted him only adds to his legend as one of the greatest to ever do it.
