Perry Riley Jr. has Positive Impact Returning from Injury

Raiders inside linebacker Perry Riley Jr. missed Oakland’s win over Carolina last week with a hamstring injury, leaving an open hole in the center of Oakland’s defense.

Riley Jr. filled the hole against the Bills in his return.

The former Washington Redskins linebacker led the team with 10 combined tackles, two of which preventing Bills lead back LeSean McCoy from finding the end zone inside the 10-yard line on Buffalo’s first offensive drive of the game.

The Bills would settle for a field goal; Riley Jr. would later settle for the Raiders’ fifth-highest defensive grade (72.5).

Riley Jr.’s short-term success over the course of the season should push Oakland into securing the veteran inside linebacker for the future.

The sixth-year linebacker will be an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
