Round 2 – Desmond King, CB/S, Iowa

Iowa cornerback (who could also end up a safety) Desmond King is a special talent, blessed with size, speed and a great football IQ.

The 2015 Jim Thorpe Award winner completed his college career with an epic season — 58 tackles, 3 interceptions and 7 pass deflections.

The sole reason King could be available in the second is that teams aren’t sure if he’ll play corner or safety at the next level. Fortunately, King possesses the skill to line up anywhere in the secondary.

With flawed cornerback D.J. Hayden on the brink of free agency, King can fill a need immediately from day one. Oakland allowed 257.5 yards per game through the air, a no-no for a potential championship contender.

On the other hand, if King is better suited at Safety, placing him opposite of rookie sensation Karl Joseph would be a dream.
