Derek Carr needs to be precise with his passing

While the weather forecast shows that the Raiders might be able to escape rain after all on Sunday in Orchard Park, it’s still important for Derek Carr to be precise with his passing. The more accurate he is in the short-to-medium passing game, the better the chances the Raiders will have to win the game.

Maybe he and offensive coordinator Todd Downing unlocked something last week versus Kansas City? Carr was slinging the pigskin all over the field on Thursday Night Football. While his accuracy was up and down, Carr was playing with great confidence against a bewildered Chiefs defense in primetime.

However, the Bills are playing with great discipline on defense under Sean McDermott. There’s not really a weak spot on Leslie Frazier‘s 2017 Bills defense. It’s an example of a defense with a low ceiling, but a high floor. This group doesn’t make mistakes and will capitalize on poor judgment by the opposing offense.

It won’t be the end of the world if Carr gets picked off on Sunday. The Bills have a knack for finding the football in the air. However, Carr needs to be strong on obvious passing situations and especially on third down. His running game behind him will be without Marshawn Lynch. It’s all the more reason Carr needs to step up big time in this game. We know he can do it.
