Slow down the Bills running game

While the Oakland secondary has shown that it will give up yards to a struggling quarterback like Joe Flacco, attacking the opposition through the air isn’t Buffalo’s forte. Trying to have Tyrod Taylor beat the Raiders with his arm would be an ideal game plan. The only problem with that is Buffalo can run the football very well.

Taylor is mobile and is more than capable of picking up third and longs with his feet if need be. He also has one of the best running backs to hand the ball off to in LeSean McCoy. The Buffalo running game perfectly complements what the Bills are doing on defense. Stopping the Bills on the ground is paramount for the Raiders.

Oakland will have veteran linebacker NaVorro Bowman with another week under his belt in Oakland to try to contain McCoy, Taylor and the rest of the Bills rushing attack. If Buffalo is averaging close to five yards per carry on Sunday, it might be hard for the Raiders to pull out a road victory.

However if the Raiders can force the Bills into obvious passing situations, the Silver and Black might be able to get that big fourth victory on the year the team needs. Sunday is a big opportunity for the Raiders front-seven to show that it can be counted on in a big spot. It’ll be interesting to see how the Raiders do in run defense versus Buffalo this week.
