Get pressure on Tom Brady.

Oakland has to get after Tom Brady with the pass rush to have any sliver of hope for a win in this game, period. The Patriots offensive line is a bit banged up. While LaAdrian Waddle has been okay in at right tackle for New England, look for the Patriots to have a tight end line up to help contain Khalil Mack. Not sure that will work though.

Though the middle of the Patriots’ offensive line is as good as new, they can be taken advantage of out on the edge. The only issue is that New England make use a very heavy passing-centric approach to beating the Raiders. If Brady can get the ball out of his hands within two seconds routinely, it might be a long day for Oakland.

That being said, if he has to hold onto the football a little bit longer than he would, Oakland has the horses to get after Brady with the pass rush. It doesn’t have to be just Mack. Maybe Karl Joseph can come up and make a bit hit with a safety blitz? Perhaps Eddie Vanderdoes or Mario Edwards Jr. can create penetration in the middle of the New England offensive line?

Oakland needs to be creative in the pass rush since New England is an offense based on adjustments. Look for the Patriots’ attack to adapt throughout the game. Will Oakland be able to adjust its game plan is the bigger question. Everything starts with getting after Brady.
