As stated before, the Raiders are 5-6 on the season. They are one game back of the Kansas City Chiefs (6-5) in the AFC West race. Oakland is a game back of the Baltimore Ravens (6-5) for the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoff picture. While the Raiders hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Chiefs, Baltimore beat Oakland earlier in the season to win the tiebreaker.

After starting the year out 2-0, the Raiders would lose four in a row. Since falling at home to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6, the Raiders have gone 3-2 to essentially save their season. Oakland is likely to finish somewhere in the 9-7 to 7-9 range, but could get to 10-6 if they catch fire and win out.

New York is 2-9 on the season and has already been eliminated from playoff contention. The Giants lost their first five games of the season before beating Denver on Sunday night football in Week 6. However, they have lost four of five since beating the Broncos back in October. New York’s only other win was to Kansas City a few weeks ago.

Overall, Oakland is trending up while New York has faded out of the playoff picture. This is a game that the Raiders have to win if they even want to think about making the AFC playoffs. New York just wants the season to end so they can get ready to draft another franchise quarterback.
