Running Back. California Golden Bears. Marshawn Lynch. 1. player. 28.

A big reason the Raiders have played well of late has been the great play of veteran running back Marshawn Lynch. He just went over 100 yards for the first time in a game this season last week versus the Giants. Could he be looking to do the same thing versus the Chiefs this week?

Well, Kansas City has been a shell of itself defensively. Though Derrick Johnson has been a good player for a long time, he looks to be past his prime. Newcomer Reggie Ragland has had a solid first season with the Chiefs since coming over from the Buffalo Bills. So it could be harder to run on the Chiefs than we think.

That being said, who expected Lynch to look this fresh this late in the season? He did spend a year out of football in 2016 and who knew how long he’d be able to keep running the football at a high level? Lynch seems to have found his stride. That 51-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter versus the Giants was absolutely sensational.

Since this will be an early start time for the Raiders, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Oakland could get off to a slow start in this game at Kansas City. That would not be good news for the Raiders if that’s the case. So let’s hope Lynch can go Beast Mode a few times early in the game to set the tone for the Raiders’ Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead.
