Oakland has to win this game to win the AFC West, period.

The pathway for the Raiders to win the AFC West is really simple. They need two go 3-1 the rest of the way with wins on the road versus the Chiefs and on the road versus the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. If the Raiders split their two remaining NFC East games versus the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, the Raiders will win the AFC West at 10-6.

So yes, this is yet another must-win game for the Raiders, but this time it is for real. By doing so, the Raiders will have completed the season sweep of the Chiefs and improve to 3-2 in divisional play. Then beating Los Angeles in Carson would give the Raiders the nod over the Chargers to win the division in Week 17.

Division games are always important, but especially in December. Stealing a road game versus an arch rival is tough sledding, but is paramount if the Raiders want to win the division and get back into the AFC playoffs. It will take the Raiders’ best game to win in Kansas City, but the Chiefs have certainly found ways to beat themselves.
