Te'Von Coney. 67. player. 28. . Linebacker. Notre Dame

The Raiders have issues on all three levels of the defense, and the linebacker spot has been one that has really underwhelmed this season. The team went out and brought in a ton of new faces to bolster the unit, but they have already released Derrick Johnson, and have been unable to get stops on a consistent basis.

One player who would be a nice fit for Paul Guenther’s defense is Te’von Coney from Notre Dame, who has played a big part in turning the program around. Coney is one of the best middle linebackers in college football, and that is a position where the Raiders have been patching together over the last couple of seasons.

This Raiders defense needs to start looking long-term, and they do have some good, young talent up front. Adding a player like Coney to the linebacker group would give them the kind of punishing player they lack in the middle, and he has shown during his time with the Fighting Irish that he is an elite tackler as well.
