Erik Harris, Safety

The Raiders got some pleasant surprises from their secondary this past season, which is not something you can say about this team each year. Former first rounders Karl Joseph and Gareon Conley both stepped into leadership roles, displaying their abilities to be some of the best in the division at their positions, and should be cornerstones of this defense moving forward.

In addition to Joseph, Erik Harris also stepped up big time in 2018, as he not only made the team, but ended up being one of the better defensive backs on the roster. He is entering free agency, but after a breakout season for Oakland in 2018, you have to think the Raiders are going to want him back.

Outside of Joseph, the entire safety position group is going to be free agents, but it is Harris that should be focused on when it comes to bringing them back. The Raiders are going to address the depth at this position this offseason, but Harris is a guy who you want on your roster, and he certainly impressed this coaching staff last season.
